James McManus, LMHC is the Founder and Managing Partner of Northstar Behavioral Health. He brings more than a decade of clinical and operational experience in child and family behavioral health. Based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, James has spent his career working with neurodivergent youth, including children with autism, ADHD, and developmental differences, and building programs grounded in real clinical practice.

Before founding Northstar, James held leadership roles in outpatient and community mental health settings, where he supervised clinical teams, designed program models, and worked directly with families navigating complex behavioral and developmental needs. His background spans early-childhood services, school-based interventions, and multidisciplinary care coordination.

As both a clinician and operator, James understands what small behavioral health providers deal with every day: staffing, reimbursement, clinical quality, burnout, and the challenge of growing without losing your way. That experience shapes how Northstar works with its partners.

At Northstar, James leads sourcing, founder relationships, strategic planning, and operational improvement across portfolio companies. His work comes from a genuine respect for the people who show up for kids and families every day.

Dr. Jonathan Stevens is the Chief Medical Officer of Northstar Behavioral Health and a physician specializing in child and neurodevelopmental behavioral health. Based in Houston, Texas, Dr. Stevens brings years of clinical leadership experience in developmental disorders, autism spectrum conditions, mood and anxiety disorders, and complex pediatric behavioral health cases.

Dr. Stevens has held leadership positions within major healthcare systems, where he guided clinical governance, program development, and interdisciplinary teams serving children, teens, and families. His work centers on clinical safety, diagnostic accuracy, and the integration of medical, psychological, and therapeutic services.

His expertise spans diagnostic evaluation, medication management, clinical risk assessment, and building systems that produce strong outcomes across different care settings. He has consistently pushed for models of care that respect neurodiversity and put families at the center of treatment planning.

As CMO at Northstar, Dr. Stevens oversees clinical strategy, evaluates potential partners, and makes sure every portfolio company holds to high standards of care. He works alongside founders and clinical teams to grow services the right way.
